Orbitz gives travelers more great ways to use their MP3 players while they are on the road or taking flight with the launch of Orbitz Insider Podcasts, available for download via iTunes and Orbitz.com.

Looking for the latest insider information on how to make your travels an adventure to remember? No time to scour the Internet for details on what to do in your destination city? Now, Orbitz gives travelers more great ways to use their MP3 players while they are on the road or taking flight with the launch of Orbitz Insider Podcasts, available for download via iTunes and Orbitz.com.

The podcast travel guides, which are available as a perk to every Orbitz customer at no additional charge, will give Orbitz customers expert insight on the best things to see, do, and experience in some of America’s top destination cities.

“Our passion is anticipating customers’ travel needs and issues before they ever arise,” said Mitch Truwit, president and chief executive officer of global consumer travel, Travelport, Inc. “Podcasting is just another example in a long line of Orbitz innovations that make our customers’ travel experience even richer.”

The first Orbitz Insider Podcasts will feature New York City, Los Angeles and San Francisco, including neighborhood-specific podcasts that help travelers find the hot events and activities in the area nearest them. For example, the New York podcast reveals timely tips for things to do this summer such as the Gospel Brunch at B.B. King Blues Club and Grill, and the Bike the Big Apple ‘Brew, View and Chocolate Tour.’ Travelers heading to the Los Angeles area can listen to the Santa Monica specific podcast to hear about its British ex-patriot heritage and the best places to find a good pint of English beer.

Updated podcast postings will be available on the OrbitzTLC page (http://orbitzinsider.com/index.html) on a monthly basis for all participating cities. After testing these markets, additional Orbitz Insider Podcasts will likely be rolled out featuring major cities in the United States and Europe.

“Orbitz Insider Podcasts make it simple for any customer to download city travel trips and feel like a local who knows all the hot spots. It’s just another part of the OrbitzTLC experience,” said Randy Wagner, chief marketing officer for Orbitz.

Orbitz.com staff is working in collaboration with iToors to develop the Orbitz Insider Podcasts, available online. To access the podcasts, click on the OrbitzTLC tab, located on the Orbitz.com. From there, it is as simple as selecting the Orbitz Insider Podcast link for available cities. From here, travelers can download the latest travel podcast directly to their MP3 players.
