Travelocity extends price guarantee to vacation packages

Building upon the company's comprehensive hotel price guarantee launched in October, now customers who find the same vacation package (flight + hotel) for less elsewhere online any time prior to the day of departure can notify Travelocity and receive a refund for the difference in price.

Travelocity is announcing the expansion of its Travelocity Price and Service Guarantee to vacation packages. Building upon the site’s industry-leading, and most comprehensive, hotel price guarantee launched in October, now customers who find the same vacation package (flight + hotel) for less elsewhere online (excluding packages booked using a name-your-own-price service) any time prior to the day of departure can notify Travelocity and receive a refund for the difference in price. Travelocity has also extended its special offer on the price match guarantee, between now and March 22, 2009, customers will also receive a $50 discount toward future travel.

Travelocity customers already save hundreds of dollars by booking their flight and hotel together. The site now also gives consumers a level of price protection on package bookings not available from other online travel sites. Meanwhile, Travelocity offers the only true, worry-free experience for booking a vacation package with the elimination of change and cancel fees for hotel bookings and vacation packages (excluding last minute packages).

In addition to the site’s unmatched guarantee, Travelocity brings consumers the “Cure Cabin Fever” sale where an average of $340 can be saved on vacation packages with four- and five-star hotels in popular sun and snow destinations. Between Jan. 4 and March 22, 2010, customers have the opportunity to save on thousands of hotels worldwide and popular chains such as Marriott, Holiday Inn and Hyatt.

“There’s no question that the absolute best way our customers can save big bucks is by booking a vacation package,” said Victoria Treyger, chief marketing officer of Travelocity North America. “We’re putting the spotlight on these savings by extending the price guarantee to vacation packages and introducing the ‘Cure Cabin Fever’ promotion to prove that budget-conscious consumers can still take a guilt-free, much-needed getaway after surviving the holidays.”
