Travel Agent Central gives Expedia's PR department a prominent place to share the company's thoughts on traditional travel agents and how "Expedia and travel agents have formed a thriving partnership," through TAAP, Expedia's affiliate program for travel agents.
Travel agents have been an integral part of tourism since the middle of the 19th century. When European travelers needed guidance to travel outside their own country, they turned to experts who had been there. While that core function is still in place, the world of travel agents has evolved significantly since that time.
