Sabre Travel Network has signed a five-year agreement with Expedia, expecting to process a meaningful portion of Expedia's GDS bookings through the Sabre system.

Sabre Travel Network has signed a five-year Global Distribution System subscriber agreement with Expedia, Inc..

Over the term of the agreement, Sabre Travel Network expects to process a meaningful portion of Expedia’s GDS bookings through the Sabre system. Specific terms are not being disclosed.

“We are pleased to provide Expedia with the breadth of our distribution services,” said Hugh Jones, senior vice president, North America, Sabre Travel Network. “This agreement underscores the value of the products and services we provide to travel agencies.”

“Expedia’s rapid growth has created the need for us to diversify our GDS relationships,” said Erik Blachford, president and CEO of Expedia and IAC Travel. “Our GDS partnership with Worldspan, L.P. spans more than eight years and has been an important part of Expedia’s success. Worldspan remains a valued and trusted partner.”

The agreement builds on an existing relationship between Sabre and Expedia in which Sabre provides cruise connectivity to Expedia. It also builds on existing relationships between Sabre and various members of the IAC Travel family of companies, including Hotwire, Classic Custom Vacations and TravelNow.
