Hilton International launches ‘Our Best Rates. Guaranteed.’

UK based Hilton International guarantees consumers the best possible rate when buying a hotel room via any Hilton or Scandic direct booking channel.

Hilton International, the UK based hotels division of Hilton Group launched a ‘Our Best Rates. Guaranteed.’ policy, guaranteeing consumers the best possible rate when buying a hotel room via any Hilton or Scandic direct booking channel.

The guarantee covers all publicly available rates booked through Hilton’s direct booking channels, including Hilton and Scandic websites, Hilton central reservations or direct with any Hilton or Scandic hotel. The guarantee also extends to travel agents booking those rates.

It will work as follows:

- Guests must have a confirmed Hilton International or Scandic reservation.
If guests find a lower publicly available ‘like for like’ rate through a third party, they can claim against the guarantee.

- Hotels in US, Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico will match the lower rate plus give a US$50 American Express gift cheque.

- For all other hotels we will match the lower rate and give a rebate of US$50 or local equivalent on check out.

- At present 4% of rooms booked with Hilton International come through own brand websites, with the aim of moving this to over 20% by 2008.

Tim Davis, Senior Vice President E-Commerce and Distribution, Hilton International, said: “This is an important step for Hilton. We think it is crucial that guests choosing to stay in any of our hotels gain easy access to the best rates available. We are very confident that our direct channels provide this capability and have therefore chosen to give our guests even more confidence by providing an absolute guarantee.”

Hilton Hotels Corporation (HHC), the Alliance partner of Hilton International, who operates the Hilton Family of brands hotels in The United States has also finalised a ‘Our Best Rates. Guaranteed.’ with travel agents, effective today.
