The hospitality industry is pumping up investments in their own booking systems to follow a path laid out by airlines, which now try to sell more flights themselves.
Hotel chains are trying to take back control of their bookings from the online travel agencies.
Top executives from the hospitality business told a Berlin conference this week that they would pump up investment in their own booking systems.
By doing so, they are following a path laid out by airlines, which now try to sell more flights themselves.
Both sectors traditionally gave online brokers big discounts, but now want to keep more of the takings themselves.
