InterContinental launched a special travel agent campaign designed to increase awareness of its rapidly expanding portfolio of brands in South America.

InterContinental Hotels Group launched a special travel agent campaign designed to increase awareness of its rapidly expanding portfolio of brands in Central and South America and the Caribbean to the global travel professional community.

“Hotels On Us” will provide IATA certified travel professionals with free weekend stays at any participating IHG hotel in Latin America. The promotion, which is valid through March 31, 2005, allows travel professionals the opportunity to become more knowledgeable with the broad range of IHG brand hotels, which includes InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Select, Holiday Inn Express, Holiday Inn Sunspree and Staybridge Suites hotels.

“Since our portfolio of properties has rapidly expanded, we now have more hotels in fantastic destinations throughout Latin America,” says Carlos Baruki, Area Director of Sales and Marketing for InterContinental Hotels Group Latin America. “We want travel professionals to be able to experience our hotels, our brands, in various destinations at their leisure.”

The “Hotels On Us” promotion provides a complimentary weekend stay (Friday and/or Saturday nights only) to IATA certified travel professionals. Black-out dates apply, advanced reservations are required, and are based on availability. Travel agents must provide a valid IATA number and each reservation should be made by calling the reservation department at the participating hotel in order to check availability, as there are a limited number of rooms under this promotion.

“We are always looking for unique ways in which to reward the travel agents in our community,” adds Baruki. “And this is a perfect opportunity for them to experience our properties, because, of the “Hotels on Us” promotion.
