InterContinental renames Six Continents Club
January 14, 2004 |
Six Continents Club became "InterContinental Ambassador," a new status within InterContinental's Priority Club Rewards.
InterContinental Hotels Group announced today that it is welcoming a new premium status into the hotel industry’s fastest-growing customer loyalty program, Priority Club Rewards.
Six Continents Club, the world-renowned recognition program of the InterContinental Hotels & Resorts brand, became “InterContinental Ambassador,” a new status within Priority Club Rewards. The status provides the best of both programs by continuing to provide the exclusive guest privileges of membership in the former Six Continents Club along with the point-earning potential and broader range of reward choices offered by the Priority Club Rewards program.
“We operate two loyalty programs in the InterContinental branded hotels—Six Continents Club and Priority Club Rewards—each with a unique set of features and privileges. Many of our guests are members of both programs, and they found it difficult to manage two sets of membership numbers, two sets of membership cards, two sets of Program communications and so on. So, we wanted to simplify the Programs for our members and bring together the best of what both have to offer,” said Steve Sickel, senior vice president, loyalty marketing, InterContinental Hotels Group.
InterContinental Ambassador members will continue to receive exclusive privileges at more than 140 InterContinental Hotels & Resorts worldwide, including:
- A complimentary weekend night stay certificate upon enrollment or membership renewal (good at any InterContinental hotel or resort in the world)
- Guaranteed upgrades to a superior room
- Dedicated reservation line and check-in desk
- VIP greeting and welcome gift
- Fresh fruit and mineral water in room upon arrival
- Late checkout
- One free pay-per-view movie per stay
In addition, Ambassador members will also enjoy the full range of benefits available to Priority Club Rewards members, including:
- Immediate Elite status and generous Elite point bonuses
- Points that never expire
- 2,000 Priority Club points or 500 airline miles per stay at InterContinental hotels
- No blackout dates for reward nights
- Ability to redeem points for free hotel stays, retail certificates and brand name merchandise
Ambassador members will receive a newly-designed membership card with a single membership number per card, quarterly statements, special offers from Priority Club Rewards and its partners, as well as enjoy online access to current point balances and stay information at http://www.priorityclub.com/ambassador .
