LastMinuteTravel.com launches new site

March 17, 2004 |

LastMinuteTravel.com's new site is both visually and technically designed to enhance the consumer experience on the site.

LastMinuteTravel.com , the premier site for finding great travel deals, has made it even easier for customers to find and book travel at the last minute. The new site is both visually and technically designed to enhance the consumer experience on the site, whether they are purchasing one of LastMinuteTravel’s great Insider Deals, or they are linking directly to one of the hundreds of branded travel offers made through the site.

LastMinuteTravel.com provides consumers the choice of efficiently booking with LastMinuteTravel, or clicking on a branded offer and booking directly through their preferred travel provider. This unique capability enables consumers to shop only one travel site and quickly find many great travel deals. It also provides LastMinuteTravel’s industry partners the choice of selling to consumers through the power of LastMinuteTravel, or having consumers link back directly to their own branded site to complete the travel transaction.

“The latest version of LastMinuteTravel is the culmination of form meeting function,” said CEO and Chairman, Alan Greenberg, the LastMinuteTravel Network. The new site was developed from consumer research into the preferences and needs of last-minute travelers, combined with technology enhancements to the site’s platform that improve search functionality and speed. This combination uniquely allows a shopper to come to the site, quickly find the deal they are looking for, and book it either directly on LastMinuteTravel.com or from their preferred travel brand that appears on the site. We are the only online travel site that gives both consumers and our industry partners this kind of choice and flexibility,” added Greenberg.

New Features on LastMinuteTravel.com Include:

- An easy-to-use bold, new consumer look with contextual deals on the center of the page surrounded by a border of branded offers.

- Easy search options by destination, date, lifestyle, activities and of course, product type including flights, hotels, cruises, cars, vacations.

- Insider Deals, a LastMinuteTravel exclusive category that identifies great deals for consumers on hotels, vacations, cruises and more.

- More & better search options

The consumer research and new site branding was led by World Media of Miami, Florida. World Media provided brand marketing direction and consumer research from brand studies to determine the new look for the site as well as consumer usability features. The technology platform was built internally and led by the company’s Chief Technology Officer, C. Chris Meysterik.
