Another online travel agency has been launched, but this one – Wisegirls Travel - is aimed specifically at women.

The launch of Australia based wisegirlstravel.com comes on the back of research which showed travel was one of the most supported online categories, with more than 50 per cent of Internet users making their travel bookings over the web.

Melbourne-based Wisegirls Travel md Danielle Paruit said most of these online bookings were made by women from their homes.

Paruit claimed Wisegirls differed from other online travel sites by offering “experiential travel that will appeal to the different roles of women”.

“The Wisegirls’ brand recognises the complexities of modern-day women, that they have multiple lives – carer, employee, business owner, mother, wife and so on,” Paruit said. “What we have done is create experiences for each of these women using travel as the main platform for delivery.”

Wisegirls Travel groups its offerings into four experiential market segments.

‘Enterprising Women’ offers de-stress getaways for professional women and women in business.

‘Health and Wellbeing’ provides short breaks designed around personal wellbeing and personal development.

‘Women and Sport’ offers active holidays for sports enthusiasts.

‘Parents’ Corner’ is for family-friendly holidays that children and parents will both enjoy.

Paruit said Wisegirls Travel was expected to reach 100,000 subscribers within 12 months.

An enhanced customer loyalty program built around a Wisegirls’-branded credit card would also be introduced.
