April 14, 2008 | Hospitality Industry

The webinar, which will be held Friday, April 18 at 2:00 p.m. ET, will reveal the 2007 year-end results of TravelClick's proprietary eMonitor and eTrak market performance reports as well as forecast trends for 2008 and beyond.

Webinar attendees can also participate in a question-and-answer session with TravelCLICK’s industry experts Scott Farrell, Vice President, Revenue Strategy, and John Hach, Vice President, eMarketing Solutions, who have been analyzing hotel industry trends for over 10 years. In addition to GDS and online hotel booking performance and patterns, they will share with webinar participants how a softening U.S. economy will affect the hotel industry and how hotels can leverage distribution strategies and pricing to protect their bottom line. The session will be moderated by Barbara Taylor Carpender, President & CEO of Taylored Training and a frequent moderator for the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International.

The webinar will focus on these topics:

- Analysis of current hotel distribution channel mix and indications for future trends.
- Growth of direct web booking by 23.6% to now account for 30% of all reservations taken through the brands’ Central Reservations Offices.
- GDS channel revenue growth to a record level of $19.1B, up 14% over the 2006 level of $16.8B.
- Relative booking performance across the major regions of the world, highlighting top markets for growth.
- How booking performance of third-party booking sites reflects the evolving role of Online Travel Agents as consumers become more web savvy and engage all information sources including social media.
