Travel.co.uk finally up and running
July 03, 2008 | Online Travel
The new site aims to improve the online travel searching, comparing and booking experience. Yet, in the initial launch phase, travel.co.uk is focusing on package holidays only.
The site promises to make online shopping experience easier and quicker for users via search-related initiatives such as `The price you see is the price you’ll pay’ (to ensure there are no unpleasant surprises when users come to book), Calendar View (users can view availability and price for two weeks either side of their selected date), ideas for choosing a destination (via route finder or even as per preferred flying time/ expected temperature), and fine tuning search to only look for certain star ratings, get results for only specific board basis and set limits on the price per person a user wants to pay.
Similarly, the site delivers search results and holiday details with information, which makes it easier for user to finalise their holiday. These features include travel provider’s full official description, photos and video, Trip Advisor reviews and Google maps for destination information.
“Once you’ve found the holiday you want to book, not only can you do it right here on travel.co.uk, we even give you a choice of agents to buy from along with the price that they are offering your chosen holiday for,” stated the company.
