UK online travel sales dropped by 9% in April

UK online travel sales dropped by 9% during last month, the IMRG Capgemini e-Retail Sales Index has shown. While sales increased year-on-year by 5%, this growth is lower than the market average (13%).

Growth in the travel sector slowed to just five per cent in April, after recording yearly growth in double figures during February and March. This may be an early indication of the impact of the volcanic ash cloud on the travel industry, according to Capgemini's UK e-Retail Sales Index.
