US travel industry insiders discuss outlook for 2009

Executives of travel agency marketing groups and Host agencies discuss the outlook for the agent industry in 2009 - both its challenges and opportunities.

Roger E. Block, CTC, president of The Travel Franchise Group/Travel Leaders; Ignacio Maza, executive vice president at Signature; and Dwain Wall, senior vice president at CruiseOne/Cruises were among the executives of host agencies and travel agency marketing groups to discuss the challenges and opportunities that face the industry.

For example, Stuart Godwin, CTC, president of Leisure Travel Alliance, said that beyond the economy, the largest challenge to the industry is the question regarding supplier compensation.
