Yahoo! set to unveil new ad management system

Yahoo! is scheduled to launch a display-ad management platform this quarter, a move that may help it meet growth projections and remain independent in the wake of Microsoft's attempted takeover, according to this article.

After months of turmoil triggered by Microsoft’s unsolicited bid, Yahoo! is ready to pull the wraps off what could be its company-saving ad system.

Yahoo! execs are bullish on the ad management platform, formerly known as “Amp,” which is seen as key to helping them meet growth projections and maintain independence. The rollout will begin this quarter, as promised to its publishing partners, execs said.

Speculation that the system, which awaits an official name, had hit a snag was fueled last month when the head of engineering on the project, Adam Hyder, left to join a start-up.
