Ctrip posted gains in all of its major categories in the second quarter of 2018, with total revenue of $1.1 billion, a 13% increase over the same period in 2017 and a 9% increase from the three months prior. The biggest jump within its core business came in the packaged tour category, which posted a 31% increase in revenue year-over-year to a total of $127 million. In its earnings statement, the Shanghai-based company says the increase was “primarily driven by an increase in volume growth of organized tours and self-guided tours.” Corporate travel revenue was also a bright spot with a 28% jump in revenue in the second quarter compared to the same period in 2017 to $38 million.
