The company's Travelzoo (Europe) unit, started in 2005, concentrates on four main markets: Britain, France, Germany and Spain. The company publishes email newsletters that provide travel, entertainment and local deals. Phone reservations sound like a small offshoot in a world where online travel packs an ever bigger punch. But data from online travel tracker PhoCusWright show that Travelzoo, which bills itself as an Internet media company, is tapping a lingering and potentially lucrative European consumer preference. PhoCusWright says only 33% of Europe's total travel sales of $290 billion in 2010 were booked online.
