In the ground transportation category alone, Uber made up 52 percent of transactions, and Lyft made up 4 percent. In the fourth quarter of 2015, the two companies combined to make up 42 percent of total ground transportation transactions. While Uber still dwarfs Lyft in terms of total share, Lyft had a much faster rate of growth during the full year 2016, according to Certify. Taxis, meanwhile, continued to lose share, accounting for only 11 percent of ground transportation transactions processed by Certify in the fourth quarter.
