The search data focused on New York and London due to their similarity in travel trends. Both are global hubs that attract large amounts of international leisure and business travellers every year – and both lead their respective regions in hotel performance and supply. Based on the data analysed, a positive correlation was found, as well as a statistically significant relationship, between Google search data and hotel demand measured by STR for both London and New York.
