Facebook will soon jump on the hashtag bandwagon, popularized by other social networking services such as Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr and Instagram. Starting today, hashtags will be clickable on Facebook, the company said in a press release on Wednesday. This will allow users to "add context" to a post, and link it to a wider discussion. "Every day, hundreds of millions of people used Facebook to share their thoughts on big moments happening all around them. Whether it's talking about a favorite television show, cheering on a hometown sports team or engaging with friends during a breaking news event," noted the company. It pointed out to date, there had not been a simple way to see the larger view of what's happening or what people were talking about.
