The Hilton Family launched the “be hospitable” effort during February 2006 initially to show the public that the assurance of Hilton quality also applied to its eight sister brands. The ad campaign followed an internal program that reinforced the company’s brand of service and founder Conrad Hilton’s philosophy of filling the earth with the light and warmth of hospitality.

Visitors are encouraged not to allow any good deed to go unmapped by reporting what they see. The site also features the “be hospitable Show” where Brooke Channon, host of HGTV’s Sensible Chic helps recount good deeds through animation, video and re-enactments. Hilton brands also toot their horns by mentioning giving-back activities like Hampton’s “Explore the highway with Hampton Save-A-Landmark” program and Homewood Suites’ involvement with the National Coalition for the Homeless.
