HotelTonight, a San Francisco startup, is launching a personal concierge feature it calls Aces. The service allows users to ask questions about the cities they are visiting, from restaurant tips to sightseeing recommendations. Guests can also request hotel amenities, like an extra pillow or room service, through the app rather than by contacting the front desk. A pilot program for Aces begins on Thursday in New York, Washington and three cities in California. HotelTonight chief executive Sam Shank said only a select number of guests will be able to use the service initially, adding that he plans to expand to all the app’s users in the more than 1,800 cities world-wide where HotelTonight operates.
