Recognizing eMarketing excellence, the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI) has joined forces with TravelCLICK to pay tribute to the “eMarketer of the Year” at the 50th Annual Adrian Awards.

The “eMarketer of the Year” award honors hoteliers who exhibit outstanding use of electronic channels to promote their property(s). The prestigious award focuses on booking performance driven by an integrated marketing strategy including electronic advertising and marketing, email marketing initiatives, enhanced website design and competitive intelligence.

“The Adrian Awards competition is all about excellence, and in this golden anniversary year, as we theme the competition and event around all that is ‘A-List’ worthy, we are delighted to shine the light on one who has excelled in the area of eMarketing,” said Robert A. Gilbert, CHME, CHA, president and CEO for HSMAI.

“Today’s hoteliers are becoming more savvy about the way they market and merchandize their hotels online, leveraging electronic channels to build brand identity, drive demand and increase profitability,” said Robert Post, president and CEO of TravelCLICK. “We want to honor and congratulate hoteliers for their success in shifting their business to highly profitable electronic channels through aggressive integrated marketing strategies.”

The winner will be showcased on Jan. 29, 2007 at the New York Marriot Marquis during the 17th Annual Adrian Awards Gala, a multifaceted, black-tie networking extravaganza celebrating award-winning industry work, lifetime achievement, and the “Top 25 Most Extraordinary Minds in Sales and Marketing.”

HSMAI recently opened its call for entries for the competition. To be considered for this honor, entrants must fill out the “eMarketer of the Year” entry form found in the web marketing category. There is no charge for applying for the “eMarketer of the Year” award.

The Adrian Awards is a worldwide competition honoring the very best in advertising, public relations, and web marketing in the hospitality, travel and tourism industries. The world’s largest travel-marketing competition of its kind, the Adrian Awards embraces every segment of the industry, including hotels, airlines, cruise lines, car rental companies, destinations, credit card companies, and more. Last year’s competition attracted over 1,200 entries from 36 countries.

The early deadline for Adrian Award entries is Friday, Sept. 1, 2006. The final deadline for all entries is Friday, Sept. 15, 2006.
