In the past year, Google has been increasing its focus on flight services via Google Flights, a meta search engine that allows users to go directly to the carrier and bypass third-party commissioners like Skyscanner or KAYAK. SimilarWeb analyzed the airlines that received the most traffic from the Google Flights, and discovered that 70% of all outgoing links are directed to United Airlines - with googletraveladservices.com responsible for 28% of united.com’s desktop traffic. Interestingly, united.com only received 30% of its traffic from KAYAK, and referral traffic from Google surpassed KAYAK to flyfrontier.com with the former sending 35% and the later only 26%.
