The tool, which Kayak said is patent-pending, is in the latest version of the app when a user launches a flight search under "new bag measurement tool." It is available to updated Apple devices. Users are prompted to scan the floor to calibrate measurements, then capture the size of the bag by moving around it with their phone's camera.
