Kayak.com made enhancements to its paid search solution Kayak Network.

In an industry-first, Kayak Network now provides advertisers with contextual search parameters whenever a consumer clicks on one of their ads. These data can include the consumer's specified dates of travel, origination city, destination city, and travel preferences. Advertisers can use this information to create more relevant search results for their own websites, thus increasing the likelihood of consumer purchase.

"Our goal is to provide advertisers with the highest possible ROI. The Kayak Network delivers consumer leads that convert up to six times higher than generic paid search,” said Keith Melnick, EVP of Corporate Development, Kayak.com. "These new enhancements will further increase the attractiveness and quality of these referrals.”

In addition, Kayak Network launched two other new features:

- Hotels can manage their property description, images, and amenities for no charge via the Kayak Network extranet
- Advertisers can target sponsored links to Kayak's rental car search results pages

More than 400 top travel companies advertise on the Kayak Network, a patent-pending ad platform optimized for the travel industry. Unlike traditional paid search, which relies on keyword combinations, the Kayak Network allows travel advertisers to customize their marketing activities based on specific search criteria. Advertising messages can be targeted based on parameters including city or city pairs, trip dates, length of stay, and specific airline or hotel brands. There are currently over 16,000 active placements running on Kayak Network.
