The Christmas shopping season seems well under way online, according to the latest numbers from comScore Networks Inc.

Online sales for the week ending Oct. 30 grew 39% year-over-year, reaching $1.77 billion from $1.27 billion in the corresponding week a year ago, comScore reports. It’s the strongest weekly growth since a 45% year-over-year increase for the week ending March 20.

By comparison, total retail sales for the week ending Oct 29 were up 3.9% from the same week a year ago, reports ShopperTrak’s National Retail Sales Estimate.

Online travel sales for week ending Oct. 3o were up 38% to $1.52 billion from $1.11 billion in the corresponding week a year ago, comScore reports.
