Travelodge saw revenue grow by 17% to ?203.5 million in 2006, a rise which the company believes was driven by a massive increase in web sales.

Last year the hotel chain saw a 63% increase in web sales and the online channel now represents 83% of all bookings.

In 2006, a total of 4.9 million rooms were sold and 27 new Travelodge hotels were opened. The company now has 20,000 rooms open in the UK and Ireland and is targeting 32,000 rooms by 2010.
