Opodo said the problem had been rectified and that all the 1,501 customers who had been hit should be refunded by 26 February.

In a statement, the company said: "The problem has now been rectified and Opodo is working with their provider to ensure all affected customers are refunded.

"Opodo regrets any inconvenience caused and would like to reassure its customers that everything is being done to deal with the problem as quickly and efficiently as possible."
