Orbitz introduced a new condensed car booking path. Booking a rental vehicle on Orbitz.com and CheapTickets.com is now even simpler for their customers. Travelers who book a rental car on Orbitz and CheapTickets will be able to complete the transaction in just three easy steps. Orbitz and CheapTickets are the only major online travel agencies that enable consumers to complete a rental car booking in the following three steps:

1. The customer enters initial search criteria on the homepage; Car results are displayed in the Car Matrix, which discloses total pricing, including all taxes and fees.

2. The customer reviews car options and chooses the car rate they want, then clicks to advance to the "Review and Purchase" page.

3. The customer reviews the car rental purchase details, enters renter contact and purchase information, and clicks the "confirm reservation" button to finalize the purchase, all on one page.

A significant new feature in the Orbitz and CheapTickets car booking paths is the debut of automatic registration, eliminating the need for unregistered travelers to leave the booking path to become a registered user. Orbitz' new car booking path gives travelers the ability to automatically register as part of the booking process without being directed to a separate screen.

"Orbitz continues to improve online rental car booking, first with our total pricing car matrix display, and now with automatic registration as part of a simple three-step booking process," said Sam Fulton, vice president of transportation for Orbitz. "With the new car booking path, travelers are no longer forced to wade through several pages of information to get to the final confirmation page. Orbitz' recent recognition by Keynote Systems as the online travel site with the best car booking experience reaffirms to our customers that we are continually working to create the fastest, easiest experience for rental car bookings."

Orbitz recently received a 2005 Keynote Performance Award for "Best Customer Experience - Rental Cars" for its top Web site performance as a car rental Web site. The awards program was designed by Keynote Systems to honor Web sites across a broad range of leading vertical industries that perform best overall on Keynote's Web transaction performance indices and competitive intelligence studies that evaluate Web site service levels and customer experience.
