From the CEO who flies first class and stays in the penthouse suite to the traveling salesman who wakes up in another nondescript hotel room five days a week, life on the road can be a grind for the frequent business traveler. Orbitz announced the launch of an online store that will cater to the needs of unmanaged business travelers. The new micro-site will be linked through the homepage and is navigable via its own URL address,

Building off the online travel agency’s heritage of innovation and proactive care, the new site features travel tools, original editorial content and other business-specific resources geared toward making business travelers’ life on the road easier and hassle-free.

“Frequent business travelers need more than just a reliable travel provider, they want the assurance that they’ll be well taken care of while on the road,” said Steve Barnhart, president and chief financial officer, Orbitz Worldwide. “Industry research tells us approximately 75 percent of unmanaged business travelers book online, and we believe our OrbitzTLC technology delivers a travel experience that’s truly unique in the online travel market today.”

Orbitz’ new online store is designed to provide distinctive features and benefits that often come only with a full-service corporate travel program.

“The business travelers we call Road Warriors are a breed apart; they’re seasoned, smart and savvy, and a large segment already use Orbitz as their website of choice,” said Randy Wagner, chief marketing officer of Orbitz Worldwide, Americas. “With our new specialized microsite, we’re making it easier for these customers to plan and book every aspect of business travel, while also enjoying the many benefits of OrbitzTLC.”
