Travel Holdings, a worldwide travel distribution company, is expanding in Europe and has named Claudia Baino as managing director of the TH Europe Ltd.

As part of the global expansion plan, Tourico Holidays, a subsidiary of Travel Holdings, will open the European headquarters office in London in January and will target the increase of product offerings for European travelers as well those traveling to Europe. The London office is the first of several European offices the Orlando, Fla.-based firm will open in the next year.

"The addition of Claudia is critical for the growth of the company in Europe. Her international sales and marketing experience and understanding of the European market will provide us with the expertise we need to develop the portfolio of travel products that we know the European clients demand," said Amir Kalmar, vice president of global sales for Travel Holdings.

As the newly appointed managing director for TH Europe Ltd., Baino will be based in the London office and will oversee all the sales and marketing activities for Europe. As part of the expansion plan, Baino will be recruiting regional sales managers for major European countries including Germany, Spain, Italy, Russia and the United Kingdom. Baino brings more than 20 years of international experience in the travel industry to the company, having previously headed the international sales and marketing divisions of global companies such as Carnival Cruise Lines and Dargal Interline Worldwide.

"This is an exciting opportunity to expand on the already solid base of product, more than 30,000 hotels worldwide, cruises, transfers, attractions and air, that Travel Holdings has to offer today," said Baino. "The company is already the largest inbound tour operator to North America and we're going to leverage our leading-edge technology to provide tour operators and .com's across Europe with a competitive 'one-stop shop' alternative."

The European push is a part of a larger global expansion plan by Travel Holdings. The company has just recently opened new sales offices in Buenos Aires and Curitiba, Brazil, and will open offices in Hong Kong and Japan in the coming months.

With its outstanding technology, product offerings and guaranteed room inventory, Travel Holdings will concentrate on providing an excellent reservation alternative to the industry and establishing close B2B relationships with the trade around the world.

Travel Holdings, through its subsidiary, serves more than 2,500 tour operators and wholesalers in 122 countries and the company expects that the latest changes will result in European tourism being a key growth area.
