Travelocity is moving 55 sales jobs from North Texas to India, where they will be taken over by business process outsourcing (BPO) company WNS. The migration of jobs will be complete by March, 2007.

WNS has been a Travelocity partner for over two years, during which time the BPO company has taken over customer service and assorted back-office work on behalf of Travelocity, a subsidiary of Sabre Holdings.

The North Texas sales jobs belonged to World Choice Travel, a subsidiary of Travelocity that co-brands online booking sites on behalf of affiliates in 42 countries. Travelocity plans to move some of the affected employees to other locations in the company while the rest will get severance packages.
