Wotif reported a 60 per cent jump in net profit last year to $26.4 million, a record trading result well above prospectus forecasts. Room nights sold swelled 39 per cent to 3.81 million in 44 countries, with Asia growing strongly even though Europe proved disappointing.

Chairman Dick McIlwain said the result "has exceeded our expectations".

"Wotif has travelled a long distance in a relatively short period of time. This is a company of the 21st century which has, and continues to grow rapidly," he said.
