Cvent's latest Group Business Outlook report projects a shaky couple years for group booking.

The company predicts that booking activity on its platform will be up in the beginning of 2020, as compared to last year, but that it will soon plunge downwards. Cvent gathers its data from its venue sourcing database, which has 260,000 venues globally, and it has been projecting a decline all year.

It isn’t all bad, however. Cvent’s data projects that group booking will start to improve toward the middle of 2021, and should remain up through the end of the year.

Big data has transformed the travel industry and is also employed in the daily operations.

The travel industry is one of the sectors that is massively dependent on data collected, and in recent years, has become more efficient, thanks to big data and analytics. Big Data handles everything that a traveler expects from the travel operator, giving personalized offers and suggestions about the places to visit.

Hence, it can be deemed as the perfect companion that a traveler needs. It will be wrong to say that big data makes the traveling experience stress-free, which is what every traveler desires.

How to use a Facebook catalog for hotels

The Facebook catalog is one of the few constants when it comes to mastering Facebook marketing for hotels.

The catalog is a reusable inventory for your hotel’s digital marketing on Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger, as well as the many sites and apps in FB’s Audience Network. It’s a “set it and forget it” investment that streamlines ad creation on Facebook’s family of apps and gives you the flexibility to create more interactive ads.

Catalogs keep inventory organized and ready to use at a moment’s notice. While independents will see some benefit from centralizing hotel room types in a reusable catalog, the functionality really shines for hotel management companies and multi-property operators that want to match each hotel to the ideal audience.
