The company is making progress in its vision to create a “seamless, holistic system that gives and does everything for the traveler and makes their lives easier and gives value to them.”

Frequently referred to as the “connected trip,” the company is currently developing a payments system as one example of its effort to “power a frictionless global marketplace.”

The new system apparently allows Booking.com to accept payments in the name of the hotel. That way customers can select the payment method they prefer, removing part of the friction, according to the company's CEO Glenn Fogel.

Also looking to enhance the user experience, Trivago has made updates to their calendar feature and is also testing a new approach to hotel filtering.
