The list was compiled by analyzing meeting and event booking activity through the Cvent Supplier Network, one of the world's largest venue sourcing platforms.

Cvent's Top Meeting Hotels lists rank hotels based on group business performance according to various criteria, including total requests for proposals (RFPs) and conversion rate.

To address increased demand and buyer preferences, Cvent unveiled additional Top Meeting Hotel lists which segment hotels further based on commonly searched attributes including meeting space square footage and region-specific locales.

The most common complaints included deceiving photos, slow or no WiFi, an unresponsive host, a long list of “house rules” and even dirty linens.

A pair of recent surveys reveal what consumers like, and what they don’t like, about home-sharing app Airbnb. The news is not exactly good, but neither is it all bad.

On the bad side, 68 percent of the 2,000 Americans surveyed by 1031 Tax Deferred Exchanges fund IPX1031 said they prefer Airbnb over traditional hotels. The reasons why include privacy, uniqueness of the property, free parking and pet-friendliness, and many consider a private home to be better for group events like weddings or family reunions.

It’s hard to imagine a situation in business travel where AI will completely eliminate the need for human intervention or touch.

By leveraging artificial intelligence, business travel solutions can better match travellers’ personal preferences and desires with inventory that meets company policy guidelines.

Through machine learning, business travel solutions can learn booking behaviours every time an employee uses it, resulting in a continually improving user experience - and reduced booking times - so employees can focus on the reason for the travel rather than the travel itself.

Many hotels still rely on brochureware websites. These websites might look pretty, but they don’t know anything about the user or the price of the hotel.

The brochureware website is long overdue for an upgrade. It’s time for a new generation of hotel websites that are contextually aware.

These websites understand a guest’s booking intent, serve relevant offers and messaging, and instantly display real-time rates to drive conversions.
